    An online social networking site is a place where a user can create a profile and build a personal network that connects the user to other users.Today there a lot of online social networking sites where individuals volunteer information about themselves and their social networks such as Facebook,Twitter,blog and Yahoo Messenger.

    One of the advantages of social networking is the user can connecting with other people around the world.The user of the social networking can post a photos or videos and tell people what they are doing at any moment and keep in touch.Then,the other users can leave their comments on that photos and videos.The user also can updating his/her status on the sites such as Facebook or chatting with their family members,relatives and friends in the chatting room.These interactions makes these websites become more popular and interactive.

    Besides that, online social networks also generate a two-way communication between students and lecturers.The students will be able to send directly their homeworks or assignments to the teachers by email or send as a message to their lectures website or blog.Then,the lecturers will check and leave his/her comments so that the students can do correction for their mistakes.The lectures also can have a discussion or giving a notes on some topics to his/her students.This will make a learning session more effective and enjoyable because the students get many informations and gain knowledges through the discussion and explanation from their lecturers on some topics .

    Some people use social networks to make an online business.They promote and expose their own products in the blog or Facebook so that the others can see it and then contacting them to buy the products.This is an excellent way where the salers can save the cost because they do not need to pay for the shop's rent,water and electric bills like the other salers do.The user must be creative in attracting and convince other people to buy their products in order to earn money from the salary.

    However,a social networks also have a disadvantages and one of them is wasting time.Some of the users spending too much time on social networks and forget to do their other business.This will make they become lazy and did not get along with the community.The impact of the case is their relationship with the people around them become loose.

   Moreover,a social networking also can effects the studies especially for the students.Some students do not use social networks well.They do not manage their time to study otherwise spend their time much on chatting in social networks and playing online game until midnight.This will make them losing focus on their study and also do not interest to learning and gain knowledges anymore.Some students forget to do their homework given by the teacher and also lost their interest to study because they spend too much time on social networks especially Facebook.

   In a nutshell,social networking is good channel to get close with other people and also help to improve ourself if we use it well and vice versa.Therefore,to gain benefits from the social networking medium we need to use it properly.
